We at Creative Sewing Machine are hoping everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday with their family and friends.  It doesn't seem possible that Christmas is right around the corner.  On December 4-6, 2014 your $25 minimum purchase will get you a $25 gift certificate to use by the end of the year (one per paying customer).  On Saturday, December 13, 2014, Creative Sewing will be having their annual Christmas Open House.  Join us for tabletop demonstrations and LOTS and LOTS of sales!

Creative Sewing Machine Happenings!

Now that the Martha Pullen School and Sew What's New events are behind us, we are looking forward to the excitement of the holidays.  Thanksgiving is coming soon and all of us at Creative Sewing want to wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends.  We also want to remind you that the store will be closed Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2014 and Friday, November 28, 2014.  We will be open on Saturday, November 29 from 9 am to 3 pm.

 

 If you need inspiration for Christmas gifts and decorating come into the store and look around at the beautiful projects you can complete.

 

 We have some beautiful ideas for your Christmas sewing and gift giving.

 

 

We are already planning inspirational events and classes for the first quarter of 2015.  We will be taking fun events from the past, taking them forward and making them fresh.  We will also have a 3 day Serger Workbook Workshop, welcoming all brands of sergers!.  Watch for the dates and time in the new newsletter that will be out at the end of December.

Sew what's new!

What a month we have had! We brought the month of October to an end with a new beginning! We had the official ribbon cutting of our new building on the morning of the 31st, which started off the amazing event "Sew What's New!"

 

 

We had so many people come welcome the new building, it was an incredible morning!

 

Our event was outstanding and had such a great turn out. We learned so much about the newest products available for sewing, quilting and embroidering. Not to mention the great software classes and a marvelous class on the new Baby lock Destiny machine!

 

 

We had so much fun learning and playing this past weekend! If you missed it, don't forget to stop in and see what's new with us!

CALL THE DOCTOR!

          You need the “Foot Doctor!” Have you ever looked at the dozens of feet made to go with your machine and thought, “I have no idea what that foot is, or how to use it?”

Noted expert and educator, Mary Lou Nall, will offer two completely different classes on Friday, October 10^th to teach you how easy it is to put professional-looking finishes and details on your sewing by using the correct foot!

          Mary Lou has a way of transforming confusion and uncertainty into competency and confidence.  Never be hesitant to use a hemmer foot on a bridesmaids dress again, or wonder just how to turn corners with piping.

           Not only will she unlock these mysteries, but she also shows you how to take presser feet you are already familiar with and use it for an alternative purpose. The classes are $35 each and cover a different variety of feet. The morning class is 9:30 – 12:30 and the afternoon class is 2 – 5 PM.  Call for reservations.
         We also need to tell you that we only have two places left in our three day Martha Pullen School from October 21st to October 23rd!  If you have been waiting to sign up, we don't want you to miss your opportunity.  Call us if you want to be one of those last attendees!

BERNINA SEWAPALOOZA

A full day of sewing fun! That is what we experienced at the Bernina Sewapalooza!

Our adventurers worked on three beautiful projects! One was an elegant shoe bag that was embellished with a mixed media design including painting (with the embroidery machine!), a crystal motif and an embroidered applique design.

The participants also made a cute little zipper pouch and a quilted pillow. Our Bernina educator, Kelly Rushing, was so impressed with our customers! We were impressed with her too.  Look at all the pretty things she brought to help teach us!

EMBROIDERY OUTSIDE THE BOX!

If you have ever wished you could improve your embroidery and even earn money with it, you should mark your calendar for Friday, June 6^th.   Creative Sewing Machine Center is offering an all-day class on machine embroidery and the business of embroidery with BabyLock educator, Susan Zellers. 

Each participant will take home one of 4 projects that they construct, incorporating a number of techniques and machine features that bring a professional touch to their work. These are some of the projects!

            The all-day class will begin at 9:30 and includes lunch. The curriculum will contain information on using social media to maximize your bottom line, as well as “in the hoop” projects, lettering software, applique on T-shirts, the new “freedom” hoops, camera placement, the  Silhouette Electronic Cutting Machine, and Palette digitizing software.

 

            The cost is $30 for supplies and lunch, and a reservation is required. If you are ready to take your embroidery to the next level, please call the store at 936-1251.

STRESS-FREE QUILTING

        Would you like to experience a day of quilting where the techniques, machines, and instruction all work together to take the stress away from your efforts? Creative Sewing Machine Center is offering a quilting event designed to help you maneuver through quilting techniques that sometimes confuse quilters. You will have the pleasure of sewing on state of the art machines that aid you as you construct flying geese, piece quarter inch seams, free-motion quilt, attach binding, and try the new free-motion couching foot.

        The class will offer a Notions Commotion; demonstrations of dozens of notions that simplify the quilting process.  Every stage of quilting can be improved and simplified with the techniques and notions that are available today. We want our customers to be the most informed and pampered when it comes to quilting. The demonstrations will include the Silhouette Electronic Cutting Machine, the newest marking and cutting tools, rulers and presser feet.

        Be sure and reserve a place in the class on Saturday, May 17^th from 9:30 to 12:30. The only cost is a $15 reservation fee. You may call the store at 936-1251.    

SOFTWARE DRAWING!!

      It just keeps getting better and better!! For all of you who are planning to go to the April Software Event we have a HUGE announcement for you!  Not only will you get to see all the latest, cutting edge software advances, but now you will be entered into a drawing for $2,399.80 of software designs and interactives! Look at all of these goodies!

Every one of these design packs and Interactives are part of the prize bundle!  If you are coming to the Software event on April 11th or 12th, you will automatically be entered into the drawing.  We will draw the winning name on Saturday afternoon, but every attendee will be included no matter which day you come.  If you have not yet signed up, don't wait too long.
