MARTHA PULLEN SCHOOL AT CREATIVE SEWING MACHINE CENTER

The Martha Pullen School was held at Creative Sewing October 21-23.  You know its a great event when the students do not want to take their breaks for snacks and lunch!  The classes this year were taught by three Martha Pullen Certified Instructors; Kathy McMakin, Connie Palmer and Peggy Dilbone.  Creative Sewing was honored to have three such accomplished teachers, designers and authors.

Instructor Connie Palmer taught the students how to make a beautiful designer child's dress using Baby Lock's Crescendo sewing machine.

  The dress, designed by Connie, features a bodice using puffing strips, rickrack and bias strips. 

Instructor Peggy Dilbone taught the students how to make a cute designer diaper bag on the Baby Lock Destiny.

  Students learned to construct the bag and embellish it with embroidery, lace insertions and scallop touches.

Instructor Kathy McMakin taught the student's how to construct and embellish a baby day gown and matching bonnet using Baby Lock's Ovation serger.

This gave Susan a chance to demonstrate her stellar ironing skills!

As the Martha Pullen School comes to a close, we are already prepared to enjoy some informative classes with Joyce Keske this Friday and Saturday, the 24th and 25th! STOP THE PRESSES! WE'VE MADE A CHANGE!

We hope this change will be to your benefit!  Our Sew What's New Event has had a change of date.  It was originally planned for this month, but some of the new items and machines we are excited about showing you are so very new that they cannot find their way to a dealership that soon.  So rather than show you SOME of the new items this month, we are determined to show you ALL of the new items and machines next month. 

 The new date (get your pencils ready) is Friday, October 31st and Saturday, November 1st. We will offer the same great classes for the same minimal price, and will even have the drawing for the sewing furniture for those who participate.

When you call the store to make your reservation, don't forget to sign up for Mary Lou Nall's classes on presser feet.  She is a "one of a Kind" teacher who will show you how to do things with your sewing machine feet that you never dreamed.  She will be offering two distinctly different classes on Friday, October 10th. You can take one or sign up for both.  In each class you will get materials to reinforce your new knowledge.
