The design is exquisite, creative, and expresses the theme so beautifully.  We told our contestants that we were not judging on workmanship, but on creativity and the interpretation of the theme. But I must say we were impressed with the work on the quilts too! You must come into the store and see all of the quilts for yourself.  They are beautiful and moving. Quilting Expo and Quilt Challenge Update!

Two things that we did not include in our Quilt Challenge Instructions are:

1.  Please create a sleeve on the back for displaying

2. Please allow us to keep your quilt in the store for a few weeks

It's going to be an amazing weekend next week at the Jamil Shrine Center (206 Jamil Road in Columbia) There are going to be countless vendors from all over the NC/SC and GA region, and not to mention we're giving away two machines!! 

 On Friday at 3 pm we will have a drawing for a Babylock Ellure Sewing and Embroidery Machine. 

On Saturday at 3 pm, we will sponsor a drawing for a Bernina 800DL Serger. 

Everyone that attends the show will get one chance to win!  The first 100 visitors in the door each morning will get 2 chances to win all day long.  

 You must be present at the 3 pm drawing to win. 

  Plan to arrive early and stay all day!!

 

Don't forget to stop on in and see us here at our store for a flyer to get 1$ off the ticket price to get in! And definitely don't forget to stop and see us at our booth! QUILT CHALLENGE:

The American Dream: The Sky’s The Limit

Sometimes when things get tough we forget that we live in the greatest country in the world, where freedom is still treasured and hard work is still rewarded. Creative Sewing wants to celebrate the values that have blessed us so greatly by offering our customers an opportunity.  We have many talented quilters who shop with us and sewing enthusiasts who feel passionately about our country, so we are proposing a challenge that could earn you a BabyLock Tiara Long Arm Quilting Machine!

        The quilt challenge rules are as follows:

1.    Quilts should reflect the theme, The American Dream: The Sky’s The Limit

2.    Quilts must be 45” X 60” (with a 3” variation permitted) Those that measure larger or smaller than the prescribed limits will not be entered.

3.    Fabric must be purchased at Creative Sewing Machine Center

4.    Participants will receive a fat quarter of theme fabric at the time of registration. All or part of the fat quarter must be included in the quilt, either sub-cut or used entirely

5.    Quilts may be traditional or art quilts and include but are not limited to piecing, embroidery, and applique

6.    Judging of quilts will be based on creativity and interpretation of theme

7.    The winner of the Challenge agrees to allow the display of their quilt in the store for 6 months

8.    All entries must be submitted by 5:00pm on August 6^th

And now onto the good stuff! We've gotten our fabric in for our fat quarters, and it is lovely! We've spent all morning making fat quarters, so we're ready for this challenge to begin!

This fabric is absolutely perfect for "the sky's the limit"  theme. Here is our sky fabric fat quartered and also against a ruler.

So come and stop on in to register! Everyone who enters will receive their fat quarter so the quilting may begin!
